La Gomera is probably the most diverse island in the Canaries. It is a magical place where the beauty of the unspoilt landscape is complemented by peaceful and friendly inhabitants and visitors. |
Few locations can claim to surpass the magnificence of this island with its deep gorges; enchanting woods cloaked in a veil of cloud and dramatic lava peaks. |
Picturesque towns and villages adorn the mountains and valley with the unique fauna and flora all combine to cast a spell upon visitors. |

During the 1970’s La Gomera was considered as an island for hippies; this atmosphere still prevails. Northern Europeans and mainland Spanish continue to regard the island as an alternative destination. Average temperatures of 22C in winter and 27C in summer generate feelings of eternal spring. |
The island is a paradise for walkers and those who enjoy water activities. The most distinctive feature without doubt is the Garajoney National Park, in the centre of the island which has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. |
Moist and evergreen laurel forests, trpoic valleys with plantations of bananas and citrus fruits, dry landscapes of rocks with thousands of cacti add up to a form of unique vegetation! |
Magnificent gorges (barrancos) run through the whole island reaching down to the sea. |
